Abstract
Osteogenesis imperfecta is a heritable connective tissue disorder brought on by a problem with the production of type 1 col lagen. Dental abnormalities such as opalescent teeth discoloration were related to the disease. One of the hereditary dentine disorders known as shell teeth has a thin layer of hard tissue surrounding a large pulp chamber and large root canals. It is sug gested that the shell teeth be restored with stainless-steel crowns or composite strip crowns to protect the tooth from wear or fracture because relatively normal enamel is easily fractured due to the thin dentin layer. This report presents the dental treat ment of a 3-year-old girl with shell teeth associated with osteogenesis imperfecta under general anesthesia. Primary canines, first molars, and second molars were restored with stainless-steel crowns by the Hall technique. Primary maxillary central and lateral incisors were restored with composite strip crowns without tooth preparation.
